  • Parents, each week, please help your students brainstorm ideas for the Principal Writing Prompt.  (This week’s prompt is:  “If you had a magic wand and could change anything in the world, what would it be and why?”)

As you help them practice their writing at home, please remember our grade level goals:

K-2: 8 SENTENCES. Kindergarten is striving for 8, First grade is striving for polishing the 8, and Second grade is striving for perfecting the 8.

3-5: MULTIPLE PARAGRAPHS.  The paragraphs must include an introductory paragraph, a closing paragraph, and a paragraph with details for each point/reason.

  • Principal McLean has challenged the student body of IEJ to read 1,800 books during the month of January!!!  That means 100 books per homeroom; equaling approximately 5 books per student!  Please encourage your child to read, read, read to help us reach our goal!  They must take and pass an AR test to receive credit for each book.  #themoreweread #themoreweknow

    • For parent/guardian surveys:
      • Parents/guardians, please take the survey only once per school for which you have students enrolled.
      • For example: If you have a child at IEJ, one at Carver, and one at SEarCH, you can take the survey three times. Otherwise, you should only take the survey once.

The survey can be accessed via a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
