AIG Referral Process

Screening Request for Parents, Staff, and Community Members

Scotland County Schools is committed to meeting the educational needs of all students, including those with exceptional abilities and talents. We believe gifted learners are found in every school and across all ethnic, cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic groups. These students represent an important source of innovation, creativity, and leadership. Through our Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Program, we are committed to providing challenging learning experiences that help students develop their strengths and reach their full potential.

Parents, guardians, school staff, and community members who have knowledge of a student's academic abilities or potential may request that the student be considered for AIG screening. Students are also encouraged to advocate for themselves by expressing their interest in being considered.

To request AIG screening, please reach out to the AIG Contact at your child's school. The AIG team will review available data and follow the district's established screening and identification procedures moving forward.
