Welcome

Beginning Teacher Program
The Scotland County Schools Beginning Teacher Support Program (BTSP) provides structured support for teachers during their first three years in the classroom. The program is designed to help beginning teachers develop strong instructional practices, build confidence, and establish professional relationships as they transition into the teaching profession.
Mentoring, collaboration, and professional learning are key components of the program and provide beginning teachers with the guidance and support needed to build a strong foundation for long-term success in the profession.
Who Participates
In accordance with North Carolina Policy TCED-016, teachers with fewer than three years of teaching experience are required to participate in the North Carolina Beginning Teacher Support Program for a total of three years, regardless of licensure type or pathway (including temporary or residency licensure).
Beginning teachers in Scotland County Schools participate in a structured support program designed to help them grow as educators while meeting state requirements for beginning teachers.
