School Board and County Commissioners Reach a Budget Agreement

 LAURINBURG, N.C. (July 15, 2021) –  The Scotland County Schools Board of Education and Administration met on Wednesday evening (July 14th,) with the Scotland County Board of Commissioners at the Honeycutt Center on the Richmond CC Scotland Campus. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the 2021-2022 budget for Scotland County Schools. After discussion a final amount of $10,000,000.00 was agreed upon. Both boards agreed that moving forward with the purpose of giving students the best possible education is what is most important.

Scotland County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Takeda LeGrand stated: “I am elated that all parties involved were able to sit down for an honest and open discussion regarding the budget. I truly believe that the best interests of our students was the number one priority for all.  I am excited to move forward in planning for the upcoming year and look forward to a very bright future for Scotland County Schools.”
