New JROTC Building Ribbon-Cutting Hosted by The Chamber
The Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, December 13th on the campus of Scotland High School. The new JROTC building will offer a larger indoor training facility and classroom for Scotland High JROTC Cadets. The cadets are under the instruction of Mst. Sergeant Ray Drewry and Lt. Col. Karl McCloud. Chamber Executive Director, Chris English served as the MC. The Reverend George Ellis offered the invocation, and those in attendance heard comments from State Representative, Rev. Garland Pierce, Scotland County Board of Commissioners Chair, Whit Gibson, City of Laurinburg Mayor, Jim Willis, Chamber President, Mary Sue Rabon, Scotland County Schools Board of Education Chair, Mr. Rick Singletary, and Scotland County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Takeda LeGrand.
