Dear Parents, Guardians, and Supporters,
Welcome to Scotland Early College High School Lion Families! My name is Kesha Branch Hood and I am the proud principal of SEarCH!
I am a lifelong resident of Scotland County. I attended North Laurinburg Elementary School, I. Ellis Johnson Middle School, and Scotland High School. I graduated in 1996 with a Teaching Fellows Scholarship to attend UNCP.
I am married to Jason Hood and we have two sons: Nichalus and Daetyn Williams who are also products of Scotland County Schools.
I have vested interested in Scotland County and I want to see the educational system here improve and become a competitor in today's changing society.
For those families that are new to SEarCH, welcome to the Pride of Scotland County!Let me begin by saying how very valuable and important you are to your children’s education. Bob Beauprez wrote, “Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations.” We promise to be committed, dedicated, and hold high expectations for your children and for ourselves. Our goal is to educate the WHOLE child and to help create 21st Century learners that will be successful in their educational career and further into adulthood. There is a lot of excitement ahead of us, including new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to meet, and new skills to master...and I look forward to you sharing in those exciting times. As a parent myself, I know how fast time goes by. Cherish these moments and let’s make their lives the best we can together. In closing, we encourage you to fully embrace the moment and urge you to take the time from your busy schedule to become familiar with our school, as well as create a work-friendly home environment that will allow your children to excel.Thank you for your commitment to your child’s education, and we look forward to growing our students together!Kesha B.
