• In 2014, Carver Middle School began what is now known as the Blue Blazers Club.  Through the leadership and encouragement of Mr. James McLean, these young men have continued to grow as young gentleman and leaders.

    Developing young gentleman

The Blue Blazers kicked the school year off by escorting visitors around Carver during open house.  During Thanksgiving the blazers delivered turkeys to elderly in need, as well as participated in a Thanksgiving dinner at Graham’s Temple Church.  For this special dinner the blazers provided 30 turkeys and helped serve 400 people in the community.

To celebrate Martin Luther King’s birthday the blazers marched in the county parade and attended a breakfast at Galilee United Methodist Church, where our principal, Dr. Hemphill was the guest speaker. To finish the weekend of celebrations, the blazer attended a service at St. Andrew’s University.

The Carver Blue Blazers are looking forward to assisting in the induction of the bowtie club at IEJ Elementary School and performing more community service, including the Scotland County Clean Sweep.
