Welcome to I. Ellis Johnson Elementary!
Latonya McLean, Principal
Students, Parents and IEJ Stakeholders,
It is my pleasure to welcome everyone back to another great year at I. Ellis Johnson Elementary!
We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected and part of our IEJ family. Additionally, we will challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and we will work diligently to prepare them for the next level of learning.
At IEJ, we have awesome teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage and empower our students to be communicators, collaborators and critical thinkers. Our teachers utilize researched-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine current skill levels and to set goals for growth and improvement. We believe that all students can learn and want to be successful and we are committed to helping them reach their goals.
We also value our relationship with you and pledge to communicate with you on a consistent basis. We hope that you will find our school webpage helpful and informative. Our weekly newsletters will be emailed to parents on Friday afternoon and uploaded to our website's news tab. We will enter dates for all events and activities under the calendar tab and we also utilize our Facebook page to share updates and announcements. For a closer look at what’s happening on campus, follow us on Twitter @IEJJets.
I am honored to serve as the Principal of I. Ellis Johnson, a school I attended as a middle school student. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academics and student growth. Please feel free to contact me at 910-277-4308 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once again, welcome back! Together, let's make it another great year at IEJ.
