Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Community Members,
I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to Scotland County Schools for the 2023-24 school year. It is my privilege to open our doors to all of you, and I am excited about the journey ahead.
Our district has a rich history, a diverse student body, and a dedicated team of educators and staff who are committed to an equitable education for all. This school year, we will focus on our core values and goals to guide us to success:
Safety and Well-being: The safety and well-being of our students are paramount. We will continue to work diligently to create a nurturing and secure environment in our schools.
Excellence in Education: Our educators and staff are committed to providing a quality education for every student. We are dedicated to nurturing a love of learning, promoting critical thinking, fostering creativity, and emphasizing the need for student accountability. Our goal is for each student to walk across the stage at graduation either enrolled in a post-secondary college or university, enlisted in a branch of the military, or employed.
Community Engagement: We believe in the strength of our community, and we aim to strengthen the ties between our schools, parents, and local businesses and organizations. Together, we can provide the best support system for our students.
Equity and Inclusion: We are deeply committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. No matter the background, we believe that every child can achieve their full potential.
Innovation and Technology: In an ever-evolving world, we are dedicated to preparing our students for the future. We will continue to integrate innovative teaching methods and technology into our classrooms.
I encourage parents and guardians to actively participate in their child's education, communicate with our teachers, and support our schools. Together, we can create an exceptional learning experience for our students.
I also want to express my gratitude to the teachers, staff, and community members who have already shown their unwavering dedication to our students and district. Your commitment is what makes Scotland County Schools a special place.
If you ever have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you.
