The Mission of Scotland County Schools NextGen (WIOA) In-School Youth Program:
To provide services designed to help youth build and maintain positive relationships throughout every aspect of their life. Scotland County Schools NextGen (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act - WIOA) Program serves In-School Youth between the ages of 14 and 21. Eligible youth are low-income and have one or more of the following characteristics: basic skills deficient, an offender, homeless/runaway/out-of-home placement/foster care/aged out of foster care, an English learner, pregnant/parenting youth, disability, or requires additional assistance to complete an educational program or to secure or hold employment. Focus is on career exploration/career pathway, educational attainment, and opportunities for skills training in in-demand industries and occupations.
