TUITION/LICENSURE EXAM REIMBURSEMENT PROCESS
Partial reimbursement will only be provided for licensure exams and/or coursework that is required for certification, renewal credit, or an advanced degree in an area of education. The procedure for requesting the partial reimbursement is as follows:
- Submit the following documents to Angela Hasty, Administrative Assistant of HR within 30 days of completion of the course or licensure exam:
- Tuition/Praxis II Reimbursement Form , WE MUST HAVE THE ORIGINAL (Keep a copy for your records)
- Grade Report (Coursework) or Score Report (Licensure Exams) showing the grade earned/passing score
- Receipt
- Reimbursement will be determined as follows:
- Undergraduate courses at NC-SBE approved Educator Preparation Programs - $148.25 per course
- Courses completed at NC-SBE approved Non-Traditional Educator Preparation Programs - $148.25 per course OR $148.25 per 50 credit hours (if semester hours are not granted)
- Graduate courses completed at NC-SBE approved Educator Preparation Programs - $316.63 per course
- Full cost of NC-SBE required licensure area exam
- Dr. McRae reviews documents received to ensure all documents are completed, receipt(s) are attached, and grades of "C" or better (coursework) or passing scores (licensure exams) are attached and completes the bottom portion of the reimbursement form accordingly.
- Documents are submitted to Finance for payment to the employee.
PLEASE READ THE EMPLOYEE AGREEMENT BELOW REGARDING TUITION/LICENSURE EXAM REIMBURSEMENT
EMPLOYEE AGREEMENT: Should I voluntarily leave Scotland County Schools within two years of receiving this reimbursement, I agree to repay the school system the full amount reimbursements received during the past 2 years. I understand that if my documentation is not submitted within 30 days of completion of the course, I may not receive tuition reimbursement for that course. I understand that if I receive full reimbursement from another source affiliated with Scotland County Schools, I cannot submit a duplicate request to Scotland County. Failure to comply with these terms may result in denial of reimbursement and/or termination.
